Official UMBC CV Format

UMBC has an official format for CVs, which should be followed as closely as possible if you are requesting employment within the JCA, or requesting a Promotion. We understand that it is a royal pain, but following the official format (as closely as possible) is particularly important if you are on the Professorial track.

In addition you must

  • Add the following statement to the top of the first page of the CV (hand-written is OK):
    I certify that the contents of this curriculum vitae are a complete and accurate record of my accomplishments.
  • sign and date the top of the first page of the CV
Here is the Official UMBC CV format (Word Doc). Unfortunately this is rather general, and rather geared to the academic environment.

However here is a real-world example of the format applied to a astro-researcher in Word and PDF formats. Just delete any (academic-related) sections not relevant to you (but don't forget to add the above statement, sign and date it..).

Even better here's a Word-format template suitable for most research scientists.
