Proposal & Grant Submission Procedures

[Jump straight to CSST budget spreadsheet]

Unfortunately there is wide variety in submission procedures required by the various funding agencies. This is further complicated by the different current & career goals of individual CSST Scientists. Clearly CSST has to also follow standard UMBC (& hence UMS) policies and procedures for grants/proposals. There is no simple flow-chart for the submission procedure [so in a sense, every case is different...].

Hopefully, answering the following questions will at least partially help most CSST Scientists nagivate the labyrinth of if, but, thens..... In all cases CSST Scientist's are expected to be aware of their own proposal deadlines & institutional requirements.

(A) Are you intending to be P.I. or co-I on the Proposal?
P.Is.: continue to NEXT QUESTION
Co-Is: then at any time in the future...
(A-1) Might there be a "direct co-I" award, "subcontract" to UMBC or any other funding vehicle involving UMBC and/or use of UMBC Facilities associated with this Proposal?
YES: continue to NEXT QUESTION
NO: STOP please contact the CSST Director
N/A(Other): Should you predict any other type of association with the putative proposal, then please give CSST a Heads-Up & explanation as soon as possible.
