By-Laws of the Joint Center for Astrophysics

This is part of the By-laws of the JCA:

2. PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the JCA shall be to serve as a center of excellence for multi-disciplinary research in the broad area of Astrophysics directed toward understanding the origin and evolution of the Universe. It shall also serve as a means to increase the effectiveness of research and teaching through close collaboration, and serve as a means to train personnel for research in relevant areas.

The wording is as in the signed, official By-Laws except all links and all wording in italic red which provide additional information, not necessarily approved by the JCA board.
