Charter of the Joint Center for Astrophysics

This is part of the Charter of the JCA:

4. SCOPE OF JCA

JCA represents a research link between reseqarchers at the two institutions. Initially thiis link will be between the University's Department of Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences [Needs to be updated] and Goddard's Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics [Needs to be updated] in the Space Sciences Directorate [Needs to be updated]. The Parties intend that this relationship shall grow in the future to cover other organizations of the two Parties as well as other universities and research organizations.

Research in JCA is iinitially concentrated in:

  • Gamma-ray Astronommy
  • Cosmic Rays
  • X-ray Astronomy
Specific tasks are more fully described herein, and from time to time revised. The Goddard Grants Officier is the official authorized to approve and modify such descriptions.

The wording is as in the signed, official Charter except all links and all wording in italic red which provide additional information, not necessarily approved by the JCA board.
