Below are estimates of travel costs for a 'typical'
domestic
and
international
meeting.
These can be used in the preparation of
budgets, when the exact destination is unknown. However, it is generally
better to name the destination, the people traveling, and the dates
in budget proposals. Indeed this information is now mandated by NASA
Budget Office
to be available to UMBC/OSP on all new budgets. However
please note that you can change any of the details without pre-approval.
(The purpose of the new requirement is simply to enable NASA
to verify that the requested travel funds are indeed reasonable).
