I joined the ASCA calibration team and worked on its in-flight
calibration and scientific data analysis. My contributions to the
team during these years include the following.
Absolute time calibration of ASCA using Crab pulsar data and
PSR B1509-58 data
Satellite operation (commanding and monitoring) at the tracking
station as a duty scientist
Development of response builders for the ASCA calibration team
Development of the analysis software package ASCA_ANL (a
prototype of the ASTRO-E official software)
Development of the detector simulator SimASCA integrated on
ASCA_ANL; widely used in applications to clusters of galaxies
Development of the Monte Carlo effective-area estimator SimARF,
integrated on SimASCA/ASCA_ANL; extensively used in calibration of
X-ray telescopes' response
Supervision of the maintenance of the time-conversion software
TIMECONV, officially distributed by the ASCA Guest Observer Facility
at NASA/GSFC; Also responsible for replying to scientific questions
from guest observers about ASCA's absolute time keeping as a
designated contact person (to the present)
