Masa's contributions to GLAST at GSFC

July 2002 - Present

Affiliated to the Joint Center for Astrophysics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, I joined the GLAST Science Support Center (SSC) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (NASA/GSFC). Listed below are my major contributions to the GLAST project at the position.

• Design and development of pulsar analysis tools for GLAST LAT data, as the pulsar tools manager in the development team of the LAT Standard Analysis Environment (SAE).
• Draft of scientific use case of the pulsar tools in SAE and their technical requirements.
• FITS definition of an event summary file, which contains gamma-ray events detected by LAT), as the lead of the FITS definition working group in the SAE development team.
• FITS definition of a pointing and livetime history file, which stores time history of satellite pointing direction and instrument livetime for calculations of instrument response.
• Draft of the guideline of FITS definitions for GLAST SAE.
• Proposal of a user-level event filtering scheme for a GLAST event summary file.
• Demonstration of scientific analyses for the SAE development team to identify functionality atoms of SAE tools.
• Participation in preparation for the preparation for the science tools design review held in September, 2002, especially for the pulsar section of SAE in the review document.
